Bown: You wouldn't believe it

Before a motley audience, Comrade Brown, who is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, was named World Statesman of the Year (this is no joke).

The award was presented on behalf of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, which campaigns for religious freedom and human rights by the veteran US former secretary of state Henry Kissinger (that will be the rights for everyone but white British Christians then).

Rock star Bono, Queen Rania of Jordan, and New Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak were among the audience (wow, not) as Mr Kissinger Kissed the Comrade Chairman's backside for his "vision and dedication" in handling the world economic crisis.

This is the citizen that sold all our gold reserves when he was chancellor of the exchequer and had to borrow unbelievable sums of money to keep his socialist spend, spend policy going in his perceived Marxist utopia.

"His leadership has been essential to our ability to overcome the moment of danger," said Mr Kissinger (try living here).
